Eli Lacin

Elijah Lacin, a native of North Carolina, went to school at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, studying with Wolfram Koessel and Adam Liu. He completed his Master of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory in 2021, studying with Bonnie Hampton and occasionally with Jeremiah Shaw of the Telegraph Quartet. He has attended and performed at music festivals throughout the United States and Europe. Not only is Elijah a classical cellist, but he also plays and sings jazz standards on the cello. He has started several jazz ensembles in his hometown such as Raleigh Jazz Quartet, Hot Club of Raleigh, and in San Francisco, the Monument Trio. He is a sought-after recording artist and is featured on several folk, country, and alternative music albums. He has performed in masterclasses for many world famous musicians and ensembles such as Tokyo String Quartet, Amir Eldan, Zuill Bailey, Antonio Lysy, Atar Arad, and William Preucil. He a just finished a year-long contract as principal cello of the Israel Sinfonietta and will be beginning two new positions with the Ashdod Symphony and the Tel Aviv Soloist’s Orchestra. Lacin is a proud alumni of Clazz International Music Festival, and honored to play on a particularly luscious and powerful 1787 William Forester cello.
