Angela Paloma González is a celebrated soloist and chamber musician, recognized both nationally and internationally for her exceptional performances. She has performed at prominent venues in Spain, including Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Toledo, Aranjuez, San Sebastián, and Madrid, as well as key European music centers such as Paris, Leipzig,London, Stamford, and Vienna.
For over a decade, González has been a member of the Pianoforte Duo, performing a wide repertoire of standard works and premiering new compositions. In 2014, she served as the music director and pianist for the revival of the Spanish operetta Las Bodas de Juanita by Sánchez-Allú. The performances, held at the prestigious Palacio de Longoria – SGAE in Madrid and Teatro Liceo in Salamanca, received critical acclaim.
In addition to her solo and chamber music career, González has earned recognition as an accompanist, praised for her adaptability and expressive sensitivity in working with other musicians. Her career has been shaped by extensive training with renowned international artists and her active concert schedule.
González is also an accomplished educator, having taught masterclasses at the City of Cuenca Summer Festival and Eutherpe Foundation Courses in Spain, as well as at European camps like the Stamford International Music Festival (England) and Shkolnikova Academy (France). In the U.S., she has taught and performed at institutions such as the Austin Chamber Music Center (TX), the University of South Carolina (SC), Old Dominion University (VA), the Westport Festival (CT), and Northwestern State University (LA).
Born in Getxo, Spain, she began her piano studies at the Toledo Conservatory under Prof. Carmen López and later studied with María Teresa Gutiérrez. She was accepted into the Madrid Royal Conservatoire, where she studied with the renowned concert pianist Fernando Puchol, a direct student of Hans Graf and Luis Galve. After graduating with degrees in piano and theory, González continued her studies with Ramón Coll, José Francisco Alonso, Ángel Berrocal, and Ricardo Requejo, and later pursued postgraduate studies in Leipzig, Germany.
González received her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance in May 2024 from Louisiana State University, under the mentorship of the esteemed Michael Gurt.
A passionate advocate for chamber music, she performs regularly with the Laertes Piano Trio and in a duo with violinist Victor Correa-Cruz. After their successful Feeling Spain, a CD featuring works by Spanish composers, the Cruz-Gonzalez Duo is preparing a new recording for the prestigious Centaur Records label.
González has taught at several renowned conservatories in Madrid, Spain, including Adolfo Salazar, Arturo Soria, and Victoria de los Ángeles. She is currently developing her academic activity at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Music and Performing Arts.
